Fagenson & Co., Inc. became a Member firm of the New York Stock Exchange in 1951. When we incorporated in 1961, we were one of the first firms to abandon the old partnership platform in favor of the more modern form of ownership that ultimately was adopted by virtually every Wall Street firm.
Our early roots as a specialist firm led to our commencement of retail clearing services in 1983 and ultimately the absorption of one of our clearing clients into our present firm in 2003.
We focus our energy and considerable experience in areas where we have a particular expertise. While the dream of a "financial supermarket" spawned the growth of a number of mega-firms, we have always been of the opinion that firms that attempt to do everything well all too often are doomed to disappoint both their customers and their shareholders.
